Logger's Chili

1 lb lean ground beef 1 lb Kielbasa sausage 1 Tbsp olive oil 1 c onion, chopped 1 c green pepper, diced 2 clove garlic, minced 1 – 16 oz can kidney beans, drained 1 – 16 oz can stewed tomatoes 1 – 16 oz can tomato sauce 2 bay leaves 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp dried oregano 1/3 tsp white pepper 1/3 tsp black pepper 1/8 tsp cayenne |
Sauté ground beef in heavy skillet, set aside. Cut sausage into ½ in. slices, then in half. In same pan sauté sausage, set aside. In same pan sauté onion and green pepper in oil until soft, but not brown. Add garlic, sauté 2 min. more. Add ground beef and sausage, and remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered 1 hour. Garnish with sour cream, or cheese. |
