Thai Rice Pudding

2 c black rice (sweet rice or glutinous rice)

2 c coconut milk

½ c sugar

½ tsp salt

2 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds

2 Tbsp toasted shredded coconut

Rinse rice until water clears. Cover with 2 inches of water and let soak overnight. Drain, add small amt of water to rice, until just covered. Steam over medium heat 30-40 minutes. While rice is steaming, make sauce. Heat milk, sugar and salt together until smooth. Keep warm. When rice is done, and still hot add half the sauce or enough to thoroughly coat rice. Stir well. Let stand 15- 20 minutes. Serve with more sauce and sesame seeds and coconut.
