Pumpkin Muffins

2/3 c cold water

3 c sugar

2 c pumpkin (lg can)

¾ c oil

4 eggs

3½ c flour

2 tsp soda

2 tsp cinnamon

1½ tsp nutmeg

½ tsp ginger

½ tsp cloves

1 c dates, chopped

½ c nuts, chopped

Mix first 4 ingredients well. Add 1 egg at a time beating well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together and add to first mixture. Fold in nuts and dates. Pour into well greased muffin tins. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
